Sigsy in Tokyo

A girl living in Tokyo with her husband.

I went to Kiyosato in Nagano for a weekend of singing, Feldenkreis and forging new friendships with the British Embassy Choir

Saturday Afternoons...

Over a cup of tea, while I am removing the horrible conehead that husband had hilariously set as my wallpaper, he says:

What's the opposite of magnify?...

...minify?

Cute like puppies and laughing babies.

Do my eyes deceive me?

Is H&M coming to Tokyo?

Whilst reading on this lovely site about some fashion, I went the the H&M site.

I am trying to buy as few new clothes as possible, but H&M is such a great place for fun buys and God willing they will have big bird sizes.

Bring it on!

AH YEAH.

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

Blue sky

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!'

Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

'Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?' Said the Piggy, 'I will.'
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

The first live concert I ever went to...

Well I say the first. there was David Essex when I was nine. This was the first one I went to with stiff permed hairsprayed hair, blue mascara and 'touch of pink' lipstick by Constance Caroll. Liverpool Empire 1986. I took pictures. I'd love to find them.

Park life, plans and napping

I had a nap today. I had a lieu day and between seeing the doctor, a failed attempt to break my bike out of bike prison, buying vegetables, paying bills and teaching a private student I curled up on my bed and had an afternoon nap. I haven't had a nap in as long as I can remember. I love a nap. There's something so decadent about being all cozy in bed in the middle of the day. It wasn't so great though because I had a dream that I was in a bar talking to my Mum's next door neighbour who has Alzheimers disease and then I was sat at a grotty bar with a gap in it and a giant coackroach the size of a lemon scuttled out, up my stool and latched on to the web of skin that occupies the space between the thumb and forefinger. It left me scratched and bleeding. This is a recurring dream for me, although it usually involves a snake biting me in the same place and me frantically flapping my hand around trying to free it and the snake is flapping form side to side as I furiously shake. But today it was a huge coackroach.

I am starting to plan for my trip home. First goal has been solidified. To identify where the charity shops are in the wealthy areas then go and make some killer finds in them. My passion for charity shopping has been rekindled. In the 1990s I was a pro. I had some fantastic stuff from leather jackets to boots to skirts, the lot. Then it ebbed off. Now I have visited the Sally Army AND have wardrobe remix to inspire me (man, there are some style vixens out there) I will be hitting the chazzas big time on my trip back in the summer.

So to more lovely things. Hanami parties. Inokashira Park on Saturday was just lovely. Thanks Ms M for arranging that.
